You can do it!
You may be feeling worried or anxious about exams finding hard to revise, thinking that you can't fulfil the expectations of your parents, teacher or even friends. I'm hear to tell you you that you can forget what all of them think (except the nice ones!) . What matters most is what you think, and that is where I'll start.
- If you think you can't do it, or that you are not good enough that's not true.
- What is true is that everyone is born with a similar ability to everyone else around them, but people with have strengths, so you my be better at history than your friend and they may be better than you at maths. It's all about finding out what you are good at, and becoming better at it, while enjoying it as well.
- What makes a difference to exam success is how you approach learning and how you feel about it.
- If you are scared and anxious you may find it harder than someone else who is calm, focused and motivated. But you CAN learn to me that calm, motivate, person at any time. Your brain is incredible and is changing all the time. You can relearn how you approach exams based on your expectations and what you want. Not anyone else. YOU.
Watch the video to learn why.
- If you are anxious or worried, it may be because at some point in the past you have been made to feel bad about not passing an exam, not doing as well as expected or you have been made to feel stupid by a teacher or a parent.
- They don't mean to make you feel like that and it doesn't mean that you are. It's just means that it made you uncomfortable and sad that you didn't do as well as they wanted. No one wants to feel like that, so each time the same situation came up your brain tried to protect you from feeling that again, so it sent an alarm to your brain to say "stop, get out of here quickly". Then it's hard to think straight and to recall information. Which is why the cycle can sometimes keep repeating.
- But I'm here to show you how you can change that cycle and instead learn to automatically respond to essay deadlines, tests, and exams calmly and confidently. Working to the best of your ability. You can always retrain your brain to do this.
Why hypnosis?
Hypnosis is excellent at helping your brain to retrain how it prepares for assignment deadlines and exams.
1. It works unconsciously. This means it works with the massive hard drive your brain has. It's like working at a computer. All you are aware of is what is on the screen, what you are focused on in that moment. But your brain is still storing and processing a million bits of information and not even realising. This is the part of the brain we work with in hypnosis. Let's call it you UNCONSCIOUS COMPUTER.
2. It bypasses the part of you brain that is telling you that "you can't". With a hypnosis track it feels like sleeping as the part of your brain that causes all the fog, the crises, the delays, the procrastination is resting. That part of you brain is like a big burly angry bouncer or a super strict teacher who says "you can't come in", you "can't do that". Instead we slip in while they are distracted by hypnosis and tell your unconscious computer what you really want. That I can't tell you, you need to decided what you want. It may be GCSE grades, it my be a university you want to go to, or an apprenticeship you are after. It may just be to feel calm when you are learning.
3. Which brings me to the third point. You need to know what you want! If you had a magic wand and could choose grades, a university, a job, sixth form, a scholarship, what would it be. If you could set your sights high free of all the worry, doubt and stress. What would you imagine. Aiming high is fantastic, it takes courage, because sometimes you will fall and that's tough, but it you don't aim high, then you will never get there. Isn't it better to fail sometimes, if you reach those highs?
4. You can learn awesome tools that boost your brain right before an exam. You're going to get a track (just 5 mins ) to listen to before an exam which will engage your brain ready for all the focus it needs to recall the knowledge you need quickly and easily. When you step into that exam room you will already have an advantage over the students who really anxious.
