Get in touchWhat you'll be teaching
The training is based on the core Mindful Mamma® Hypnobirthing course which is a 6 hour class.
- There are 7 sections and 7 objectives based on aspects of education that create powerful shifts in confidence for the couples you teach.
- Each objective is carefully scripted with techniques laid out in a handbook. This can be run as a day class, over 2x3 sessions, or 3x2 sessions
- The classes can be delivered privately or in small groups of up to 5 couples.
- As you become more confident you can adjust aspects working more authentically.
- You'll be trained to understand and use hypnosis, understanding nuance, with follow up support to ensure that you are confident.
- You'll be able to adapt hypnosis skills for caesarean birth, VBAC and other aspect of birth. As a clinical supervisor I can support you in this.
Day 1
Practical application live online
Hypnosis practical day, we go deeper into the practical aspects of applied hypnosis. This is what will give you the confidence in skills and be able to adapt them. You'll learn about the brain, voice, language, suggestion, hypnotic imagery, self-hypnosis, storytelling, rapid on the spot hypnosis, and why these aspects of hypnosis matter for birth.
Day 2
The Class live online
We go through the class as we would on a day teaching to parents. The practical hypnosis experience from Day 1 is applied and you start to see how the framework comes together and how gentle but powerful the class is. We look at practical aspects of teaching live on line. It's surprisingly interactive and dynamic even online.
Self-Guided
Learning and resource platform
Discover the learning platform full of resources. It's broken down into sections with videos, resources and more. It deepens the live training, by teaching you more the history of hypnosis, a birth knowledge base, and how to set up your class. You can start doing the self-guided learning the minute you purchase the course. It's also available on an app.
Post-Training
Reflection and certification
After training you can book a 1 hour consolidation session with me where you build your confidence. Then you complete a reflection on your first class whether group or private. You'll receive a certificate for CPD, a practitioner badge for your website and social media and you'll also be listed on the matching service for clients.

Why Train With me?
I've lost count of the parents I've taught and teachers I've trained over the last 20 years.
The power of hypnosis for pregnancy birth and early pregnancy is overshadowed by the focus on "hynobirthing for pain free birth" or the assumption that it's for uninterrupted physiological birth.
This is something I want to change.
When you learn with me you benefit from my experiential knowledge and the training I have done myself over the years. Not just hypnosis, I've been on retreat with incredible people such as Thich Nhat Hanh, which is why I also want teachers to understand the difference between hypnosis and mindfulness for birth.
If you have done another course and don't really feel you have mindset tools that you wanted or you want to go deeper into what is possible with hypnosis and mindfulness, then this is the course for you.
Someone birthing should not be thinking about which breathing technique to use, and when. Or worrying about whether they are getting it right. Hypnosis should be automatic, conditioned so you don't "try to do it" you just do it.
Preparation should be perfecting the tools, finding the one that works, then conditioning them so they happen without thinking.
One breath beautifully conditioned, one or two techniques perfectly practiced, a playlist ready to go, clarity in decision making, a powerful belief in birth that has been reset at a subconscious level, a partner that is fearlessly supportive.
The neo-cortex should be switching off so they are able to focus their attention in a way that supports their body.
Join me in revolutionising hypnobirthing and making is accessible for all new parents, and help them shape a positive experience of birth.

I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying the content so far, this is something I have had on my mind since becoming a pre and postnatal yoga teacher since 2018 & I honestly don’t know why it’s taken me so long but I know that I have found the right teacher.
Penny
I had my first glowing review from my client in November, it will be on social media later this week. She delivered her own baby Sophie in her bath in under 2 hours! and she said it was all down to the confidence I gave her, I was so thrilled!
Kerry
We had our last session on Saturday and it was so amazing, thank you so much for this wonderful training. Things didn’t go to plan with their first baby and they both now feel hugely confident and in control.
What happened to the hypno in hypnobirthing?
As hynobirthing has grown in popularity over the last 20 years the hypno element has been diluted in favour of relaxation and breathing.
I focus on:
- effective hypnosis training so you are confident in your ability to apply hypnosis safely
- help you understand hypnotic language and self-hypnosis for on the spot hypnosis instead of reading scripts
- make sure you know how to use the tools with people if things take a different path so they can still have a positive experience
- hypnobirthing techniques I see used commonly that are not suitable for birth
- current research and thinking around hypnosis, and why it is so effective.
- the difference between hypnosis and mindfulness when it comes to birth
Over the last 20 years perinatal mental health teams, hypnotherapists, midwives, in the NHS, psychologists, doulas and even those who have used the techniques themselves have been through this course.

Why practitioners choose this hypnobirthing teacher training
"As a clinical psychologist I wanted a course that fitted alongside my style of working and was grounded in evidence."
"I trained with another provider and this was entirely different. It was a much more comprehensive approach to hypnosis and so many more tools".
"I loved that this was about real skills I could use with parents straight away."
"Sophie is profoundly generous with the tools she teaches, some of the biggest birth influencers have trained with her and built success on the work she has done with them."
"I wasn't sure how my first class would go, but I couldn't believe how well it had all gone in, I listened to my confident practitioner track before the class, and I was absolutely buzzing afterwards".
Hypnosis isn't rocket science. But you do need to understand what is really is, the evidence that supports it, and how you can adapt aspects of hypnosis specifically for pregnancy and birth. It is different from mindfulness and you'll learn subtle ways in which these techniques can play different roles during birth.
Also importantly, how to keep your clients safe. With this you will be able to add hypnosis to your portfolio or start a new business entirely.
All you need to bring to this is your passion for birth.
